Please note: All details on the route are subject to change and all timings are approximate.

Our Baton of Hope Wrexham Tour is free to attend, because we believe conversations about suicide prevention should be open to everyone. But if you’re able, we are kindly asking for donations so that we're able to continue our work past the 4th October.
Every penny will go directly into suicide prevention work.Funds raised will be split between Baton of Hope UK and Advance Brighter Futures (ABF) and their work in suicide prevention in Wrexham.
Your generosity helps keep this vital initiative alive – allowing us to raise awareness, spark conversations, reduce stigma, and bring suicide prevention into the heart of our communities. Without this support, none of it would be possible.
From all of us at Baton of Hope UK and ABF – thank you for standing with us, and for helping to keep this life-saving work going.

More about Baton of Hope UK
The Baton of Hope is the world’s first physical symbol of mental wellbeing – a striking and beautifully crafted baton that’s passed from person to person, carrying with it powerful stories of loss, survival, and hope. It was designed and donated by Thomas Lyte – the same world-renowned makers behind the FA Cup and other iconic sporting trophies. Baton of Hope UK was founded by two parents who lost their sons to suicide and wanted to turn pain into purpose. Their aim was simple but bold: to get the whole country talking about suicide, to challenge the stigma, and to make prevention a national priority. The Baton is now at the heart of a growing movement – helping to start conversations, raise awareness, and bring hope into communities across the UK.

ABF & Baton of Hope - A collaboration
HOPE. SUPPORT. COMMUNITY.
At Advance Brighter Futures, suicide prevention has become a core part of our work over the past 18 months. We've been delivering safeTALK training and raising awareness in the very places where people live, work, and gather – from community cafés like Caffi Wylfa to support groups meeting at Pontcysyllte Chapel Tearoom. It’s through this work that we were introduced to the Baton of Hope, and with the support of our local communities, we’re proud to now be the Lead Charity Partner for the Wrexham leg of the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative.
Our very own Business Development Officer, Zoe, has been working alongside Project Lead, Susan, who lost her son Daniel to suicide in 2021. Her daughter Charlotte carried the Baton in his honour during the 2023 tour in Newcastle, their hometown. When asked to be Project Lead in the 2025 tour after relocating to Wales, Susan chose Wrexham and was introduced to ABF by the Baton of Hope team - unaware at the time that Daniel had worked with ABF back in 2019. That serendipitous link has brought Zoe and Susan together in a way that feels both emotional and full circle.

“When we realised the connection between Daniel and ABF, it gave us both goosebumps. It genuinely feels like Daniel brought us together. I’m doing this for him – but also to prevent other families having to go through what we have."

The Wrexham Tour
Wrexham is one of just 20 locations across the UK – and the only one representing Wales – chosen to host this national movement. On Saturday 4th October 2025, the Baton of Hope will journey through our city, carried by over 60 Baton Bearers. Each one of them brings a personal connection to suicide, whether through loss or survival. Our Baton Bearers are bereaved parents, siblings, friends, colleagues, carers, and survivors. People from across our communities who have lived through the pain that suicide leaves behind and now carry with them something just as powerful: hope.
Each Baton Bearer has their own story – some will walk in memory of a loved one, others to mark how far they’ve come in their own mental health journey. All of them are united by the same mission: to raise awareness, break down stigma, and show others that they are not alone.

As the Baton travels through Wrexham, it will pass through our communities, spreading hope one step at a time.
