Brighter Youth Talking Therapies

Brighter Youth Talking Therapies gives you your own space to talk about life, family stuff, worries, or anything that’s affecting you. You’ll get one‑to‑one support from someone who listens, at your pace, about whatever matters to you.

Who is it for?

Would you benefit from short term confidential one to one counselling?

You must:

  • live in Wrexham

  • be aged 8 – 18yrs (up to your 19th birthday)*

  • not be waiting for, or accessing CAMHS/CMHT, Social Services, counselling, or have received counselling within the last 6 months

*You can access Brighter Youth up to age 25 years if you have additional needs

Brighter Youth works best if you:

  • can talk about what’s going on for you

  • have something you know you’d like help with

  • can achieve what you want from 10 sessions only

If you’re going through a crisis or feel unsafe, the service may not be the best place to get the support you need right now.

We know it can be hard to ask for help but reaching out to someone you trust - like a family member, friend, or teacher - can help keep you safe.

If you can’t think of anyone that could help you right now, there are services that offer support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:

What can Brighter Youth help with?

You’ll have one‑to‑one sessions with a qualified counsellor who will give you your own space to talk about what’s going on, how you’re feeling, and anything that’s bothering you.

Say as much or as little as you want – we go at your pace.

It’s a chance for you to talk things through and make sense of how you’re feeling.

Just some examples of what we could help with are:

  • making sense of what’s going on

  • coping better with stress or worries

  • finding ways to express how you feel - especially at home

  • feeling more confident in yourself

  • feeling more listened to and understood

  • making home life feel easier

  • help family relationships feel less stressful

You decide what feels important to talk about in your sessions - we’re here to help you feel supported and make things feel a bit easier.

What does Brighter Youth provide?
