Wrexham mental health charity celebrates 30th anniversary on October 7

Updated: Jul 20, 2023

Advance Brighter Futures (ABF) will celebrate its pearl anniversary on Friday, October 7, 2022, with an open house event taking place at the charity’s newly renovated building at 3 Belmont Road.

The event will look back at the mental health and wellbeing charity’s work in the community over the past 30 years, with lots happening on the day, including speeches from ABF’s Chair of Trustees and founding members, plus a surprise VIP Guest!

The building will be open 12pm-3pm and invited guests will be able to take a look around the newly renovated building, including the brand-new extension funded by Welsh Government’s Community Facilities Programme, and learn more about the projects and services offered at ABF.

Plus, there will be a sponsored cycle challenge, fun games, and a raffle (with a chance to win prizes) with the funds raised going directly to helping the people of Flintshire and Wrexham with their mental health and wellbeing.

ABF is asking people who have been associated with charity over the last 30 years to come forward to be part of the celebrations on October 7.

Rick Bedson, ABF’s Chair of Trustees, said: “We’d love to get as many people who are associated with ABF as we can to the anniversary event. The day will celebrate all the staff, volunteers, trustees and many more over the years who have made this possible, but most importantly it will celebrate the people who have used ABF’s services over the years too.

“We’re incredibly proud to reach 30 years of providing a helping hand for people’s mental health. Our mission is to ensure that no individual experiencing mental health problems ever feels like they are on their own, and so many people have contributed to this since we first opened our doors in 1992. The open house event is going to be a wonderful celebration of all things ABF, so if we’ve either worked with or supported you in the past, we’d love to have you there.”
